In a previous article, I mentioned the different types of waterfront properties that the Niagara region has to offer. I wanted to expand on owning property along the Niagara River Parkway.
Have you ever experienced the breathtaking views while driving the parkway through from Niagara-on-the-Lake, Niagara Falls, and then leading into Fort Erie? It is one of the most memorable drives I have taken in years. This is arguably a lifetime experience that will stay with you for years to come.
There are the most breathtaking views at strategic look out points throughout the drive, of course the main attraction being the mighty Niagara River, as well as the splendid majestic trees that flank the edge of the embankments. You will notice the immaculately groomed private estates as well as historic restored homes that stretches the imagination of how lives were lived back in the day. You will be just as impressed by the scenic vineyards that shape the landscape of the parkway.
Riverfront property differs greatly from owning a lakefront home. The Niagara river does not offer the sought after sunsets that lakes typically provide. The allure of the river is the calming, slow, steady flow of the waters, with twirling whirlpools. The silence of the water is mesmerizing. You will enjoy the activity of the fishermen floating down the current trolling for the big catch of the day. You will enjoy the silent gliding sailboats as well as the motorized watercrafts. The river will provide you with a variety of activities that will appeal to all. Again, the same questions should be asked about the edge of the embankment in terms of shoreline protection. Some properties include docking privileges.
Owning property on the Niagara Parkway will be appealing not only for the views and tranquility but the cycling paths have proven to be second to none and the local markets and wineries will be a welcomed pit stop along the way.
