This is the perfect time of year to plan a visit in one of my favourite seasons. Springtime in Niagara undeniably offers the most breathtaking sights while the fruit orchards are in bloom! If you haven’t visited in the spring, you may want to plan it for next year. The best month is May when the peach trees are a sea of pink blooms – and the spectacular cherry blossoms – can be seen anywhere between the Niagara River Parkway through to the country concession roads and lines. Consider a drive along Lakeshore Drive that runs the length of the South shores of Lake Ontario from St. Catharines to Niagara-on-the-Lake. You can also include East West Line, Concession 2 and of course our beautiful Niagara River Parkway route that is found between Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake along the Niagara River. Of course you will come upon wineries along the way so be prepared for a fun day!
Queen Street, our main downtown street here in Niagara-on-the-Lake, is very impressive when the planted tulip bulbs pop up in multiple bright colours along the street. The shop owners are busy with their new inventory and preparing for the upcoming tourist season. The bakeries open up and we locals are finally treated with the enticing scents of fresh cookies and pastries as we stroll by. Springtime is by far a most wonderful time to live in Niagara-on-the-Lake!
